Calling all experienced Cardiothoracic Surgery Physician Assistants! Our team is seeking Full Time coverage in Washington! Incumbents must be able to harvest veins and first assist surgeons on all open-heart cases, suturing, and pre/post op surgical care. Assignment Length: Ongoing!
Duties include but not limited to: Pre- and post-op patient evals and treatment; first assist in the OR for CABG, valve (including minimally invasive), aortic and aortic arch reconstruction, thoracic and foregut procedures; Including robotic-assisted surgeries; endoscopic vein and open radial artery harvesting; ICU and step-down care; Emergent bedside procedures as needed; daily rounds and discharge summaries; managing urgent clinic visits when the primary surgeon is unavailable; and clinic wound checks as needed.
Schedule details:
· Monday – Friday, 3-4 days calls & 1:4 weekend call
· Weekday schedule is typically 7:00am – 3:00pm; If on call, the hours for that day would likely be 10-12+ hours
· Weekend call shifts are variable depending on patient census, but generally 6-8+ hours per weekend day. Includes carrying pager for 24 hours
Qualifications:
· Active Washington State Licensure – Preferred, will consider IMLC!
· Active DEA, ACLS and BLS
· Minimum 2 -3 years of experience in CV/CT Surgery, including EVH and first assist experience. Robotic surgery experience is a must!
