Locum Pediatric Pathologist – Academic Medical Center
Location: New Jersey
Start: ASAP | Ongoing Through Fall
Overview:
A leading Level I Trauma academic medical center in New Jersey is seeking an experienced Pediatric Pathologist to provide locum coverage within a well-established anatomic pathology department.
This is a strong opportunity to step into a collaborative, high-acuity academic environment with consistent case volume and full subspecialty support.
What You'll Be Doing:
- Pediatric surgical pathology sign-out (biopsies & resections)
- Frozen sections and intraoperative consults
- Gross examination and specimen triage
- Rapid/rush case review
- Pediatric pathology consultations
- Participation in multidisciplinary care with surgical, oncology, and neonatal teams
- Light involvement in autopsy/perinatal pathology
Clinical Environment:
- Academic setting with established pathology team
- Strong interdisciplinary collaboration
- Full lab and operational support
- Modern EMR system (Epic)
Volume Snapshot:
- Surgical pathology: 10–30 cases/day
- Frozen sections: low–moderate volume
- Consultative work integrated into daily workflow
Schedule:
- Monday – Friday, 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM
- Night and weekend call included

Requirements:
- Board Certified in Anatomic Pathology
