Orthopedic Trauma Surgery – Locum Tenens Opportunity
Position Overview
Palm Health is actively seeking a Board-Certified, fellowship-trained Orthopedic Trauma Surgeon for ongoing locum tenens coverage at a Level II Trauma Center in a high-acuity, fast-paced environment. This role focuses on orthopedic trauma surgery with a strong emphasis on emergency and inpatient fracture care, including complex trauma cases.
This is a long-term, ongoing need with flexible monthly scheduling and strong surgical support.
Clinical Responsibilities
- 24-hour orthopedic trauma call coverage (in-house supported, 7a–7a shifts)
- Management of all orthopedic trauma and emergency cases
- Surgical treatment of complex fractures, including pelvis and acetabulum
- Bread-and-butter hand trauma coverage
- Inpatient consults and operative trauma management
- Combination of call coverage and clinic responsibilities as needed
- Collaboration with advanced practice providers available 24/7
Schedule & Coverage
- 24-hour call shifts (7:00 AM – 7:00 AM)
- Ongoing coverage need
- Approximately 2–7+ shifts per month depending on availability
Required Qualifications
- Board Certified in Orthopedic Surgery (required)
- Fellowship training in Orthopedic Trauma Surgery (required)
- Active state medical license (or willingness to obtain)
- DEA and CSR (as required by assignment state)
- Clean malpractice history required (no exceptions)
- Candidates must have clean credentialing files to qualify for temp/emergency privileges
