Advanced Practice Provider (APRN or PA) – Advanced Cardiac Surgical Unit (ECMO)
Location: Orlando, FL | Full Time
A leading Cardiovascular Institute in the Southeast is seeking a dedicated Advanced Practice Provider (APRN or PA) to join its Advanced Cardiac Surgical Unit. This high-acuity unit provides advanced care for cardiac transplant, LVAD, mechanical circulatory support (MCS), and ECMO patients.
Schedule
- Mix of day and night shifts
- Full-time nights also considered for interested candidates
Responsibilities
- Assess patients for changes in condition and initiate appropriate interventions, including emergency care
- Perform procedures including chest tubes, arterial catheters, central venous catheters, pulmonary artery catheters, airway management, and defibrillation
- Assist with pre-, peri-, and postoperative management of cardiac transplant, VAD, MCS, and ECMO patients
- Participate in quality/performance improvement activities and clinical research
Qualifications
- 2+ years of experience as an APP with direct patient care experience, including ECMO experience
- Master's Degree in Physician Assistant Studies or Nursing with Acute Care Certification (required)
- Board Certification through NCCPA, ANCC, or AACN
- BLS, ACLS, CALS, FCCS certifications or eligible
- Experience with transplant patients, LVAD, circulatory assist devices, and CABG (highly preferred)
- CICU or CVICU RN experience (highly preferred)
