We are hiring an experienced Board-Certified or Board-Eligible Critical Care Medicine Nocturnist physician to work in its neuro, cardiovascular and medical ICUs as well as in the newly launched Virtual Intensive Care Unit. Ideal candidate will be enthusiastic and dedicated to providing highest quality of patient care, with genuine interest in teaching and training residents and fellows. Work experience in Neuro and Cardiac Critical Care Medicine will be preferred but not required. The position requires the intensivist to be well-versed in all critical care procedures including endotracheal intubation, management of noninvasive and invasive mechanical ventilation, the placement and management of Swan Ganz catheters, central venous and arterial lines, temporary dialysis catheters, tube thoracostomies, and performing thoracenteses, paracenteses, and lumbar punctures. The ideal candidate will be comfortable working in a high-acuity environment, collaborating with multidisciplinary teams to manage the care of critically ill patients both at the bedside and in a virtual ICU setting. The physician will be supported by an ICU team consisting of RNs, NPs, respiratory therapists, as well as residents and fellows rotating through the various ICU units. The candidate will be expected to serve twelve 12-hour shifts a month, dividing his/her time between bedside and virtual ICU. The time split between the bedside and virtual ICU shall be determined by the staffing needs of the hospital in any given month.
