Locum Tenens Hematology/Oncology – Ohio (Outpatient)
Specialty: Hematology / Oncology
Location: OH
Schedule: Monday–Wednesday (3 days/week) minimum
Hours: 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM
Start Date: ASAP
Duration: Ongoing (coverage due to physician retirement)
Practice Details
- Outpatient only (no inpatient rounding)
- See new hematology/oncology patients and follow-ups
- Patient volume ramps up to 10–20 patients/day
- Monthly new consults:
- ~35 Hematology
- ~10 Oncology
- Heavy emphasis on benign hematology
- Hem/Onc split: 60% Hematology / 40% Oncology
- No APP support
- Infusion supervision required (direct supervision)
Case Mix
- Solid tumors and malignant hematology
- Common diagnoses include:
- Lung, colon, breast cancers
- Lymphoma, NHL, CML
- Anemias (all types)
- No AML treatment
- No stem cell transplant (patients referred to UK or OSU)
Additional Details
- EMR: Epic (Beacon module)
- Licensure: Ohio license eligible
- Hospital privileges: Likely not required (can be confirmed)
- Supervision: May supervise nursing staff
