Palm Health Resources is hiring an experienced Cardiothoracic Physician Assistant / NP in Beautiful Southwest Texas!

This is a full time Locum need! 3-6 month contract to start with an option to extend! Palm Health covers your Mal Practice, Travel, Lodging, Rental Car and/or Mileage and MUCH MORE!

We are recruiting a full-time APP for our Cardiothoracic Surgery team and are also looking for a locum First Assist to help bridge our current staffing gap while we recruit for the permanent position. We currently have 2 cardiothoracic surgeons and 2 APPs. The APP/First Assist is an important part of the surgical team and has the opportunity to be involved across the continuum of care, including the OR, inpatient setting, and clinic.

The APP/First Assist will support our

cardiothoracic surgeons in the OR, including First Assist and EVH

responsibilities. Our annual cardiac surgery volume is approximately 300–330

cases. The majority of our cases are CABGs, with occasional valve cases and

minimal thoracic/lung volume. We perform a mix of on-pump and off-pump cases

and do not currently perform robotic procedures.

For EVH, we utilize the Terumo VirtuoSaph Plus

system.

The typical schedule is five 8-hour days per week. Weekend call is approximately every other weekend, or about two weekends per month.

There is weekday call as well as approximately

every-other-weekend call. Call is for OR callback/First Assist coverage only.

Actual callbacks are usually infrequent. 

The hospitals utilize Cerner as the EMR. Our outpatient clinic utilizes

Athena.
