Cardiothoracic Surgery Physician Assistant

Phoenix, Arizona

Palm Health has joined an established and highly respected cardiothoracic surgery practice in Arizona that is seeking a Physician Assistant to join its growing surgical team.

This is an excellent opportunity to work alongside a team of experienced cardiothoracic surgeons in a high-volume cardiac surgery program serving multiple leading hospitals throughout the Phoenix metropolitan area.

The position is entirely hospital-based with no outpatient clinic responsibilities, allowing providers to focus on operative and inpatient care.

Position Highlights

• Join an established team of Cardiothoracic Surgery Physician Assistants
• First assist in a variety of cardiac surgical procedures
• Hospital-based practice
• No clinic responsibilities
• Shared call rotation (1:4)
• Exposure to complex and diverse cardiac surgical cases
• Collaborative surgical team environment
• Multiple hospital locations

Responsibilities

• First assist in cardiothoracic surgical procedures
• Endoscopic and open vein harvesting
• Daily inpatient rounding
• Pre-operative and post-operative patient management
• Inpatient consultations
• Coordination of care with surgeons, nursing staff, and multidisciplinary teams
• Participation in shared call coverage

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited Physician Assistant program
• NCCPA Certification
• Active Arizona license or ability to obtain
• Prior operating room experience required
• Vein harvesting experience preferred
• Cardiothoracic Surgery experience strongly preferred
• Excellent communication and teamwork skills
