This is a full-time Locum Contract Opportunity for an experienced Cardiac Surgery PA to join our busy care team in the greater Las Vegas area. The role involves providing cardiothoracic medical services in the full continuum of care including surgical assisting, inpatient management, pre-operative and post-operative evaluations, and patient education. CT Surgery PA Job Description:
Essential Job Duties:
• Assist with the inpatient management of cardiovascular and thoracic surgery patients including preoperative, perioperative and postoperative care.
• Rotating 24 hour First Call for the CVT service among two
• First assist in CVT surgeries.
• Round on inpatients, coordinate interdisciplinary care with Medical teams.
• Consult on ER patients, providing diagnosis, appropriate plan of care and referrals as appropriate.
• Order, interpret and analyze diagnostic tests.
• Prescribe medications as necessary.
• Works within a multidisciplinary team.
• Additional duties as assigned by leadership.
• Dealbreakers: no CVT experience
Facility details:
• Setting: Acute care hospital
• Days per month: 15-20 and/or full time
• Required Procedures: All first assist capabilities for complex surgical procedures.
• EMR: Cerner
• Support Staff: Clinic supervisor, acute care services director
Schedule/Availability Requirements:
We will be looking for locums to start asap and would prefer blocks of availability (2-3 months) at a time in order for the team to become comfortable with the locum and of course with an option to extend longer after 3 months.
Shift Description:
• 24 hour call every three weeks for both surgical and medical (ICU) coverage for CVT patients. 7a-5p on non-call days. Would potentially cover clinic when on 24 hour call 1-2 times during that week.
Qualifications:
• Board Certified – REQUIRED
• NV state license or IMLC – REQUIRED
• Residency/Fellowship – REQUIRED
• BLS, ACLS, DEA – REQUIRED
• Clean Malpractice – REQUIRED
