 Inpatient Psychiatrist (Locum Tenens) – New Jersey

Schedule: Monday–Friday, 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM

Position Overview:

A well-supported behavioral health program in New Jersey is seeking a Board Eligible/Board Certified Psychiatrist for a locum tenens opportunity combining inpatient psychiatry with occasional consultation-liaison exposure.

This role offers a collaborative environment with strong clinical support and a structured inpatient setting.

Clinical Responsibilities:

• Provide inpatient psychiatric care including:
  • Patient evaluations
  • Treatment planning and medication management
  • Ongoing care and discharge coordination
• Manage a range of complex psychiatric conditions
• Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team to optimize patient outcomes
• Occasionally support consultation-liaison services within the hospital

Practice Environment:

• Structured inpatient setting with shared physician coverage
• Work alongside:
  • Advanced Practice Providers
  • Fellows
  • Nursing and therapy teams
• Social work and care coordination
• Collaborative team-based model (not solo coverage)

Patient Volume:

• Approximately 12–14 patients per day

Requirements:

• Board Eligible or Board Certified in Psychiatry
• Active New Jersey license preferred (or ability to obtain)
