Locum Pediatric Pathologist – Academic Medical Center

Location: New Jersey

Start: ASAP | Ongoing Through Fall

Overview:

A leading Level I Trauma academic medical center in New Jersey is seeking an experienced Pediatric Pathologist to provide locum coverage within a well-established anatomic pathology department.

This is a strong opportunity to step into a collaborative, high-acuity academic environment with consistent case volume and full subspecialty support.

What You'll Be Doing:

• Pediatric surgical pathology sign-out (biopsies & resections)
• Frozen sections and intraoperative consults
• Gross examination and specimen triage
• Rapid/rush case review
• Pediatric pathology consultations
• Participation in multidisciplinary care with surgical, oncology, and neonatal teams
• Light involvement in autopsy/perinatal pathology

Clinical Environment:

• Academic setting with established pathology team
• Strong interdisciplinary collaboration
• Full lab and operational support
• Modern EMR system (Epic)

Volume Snapshot:

• Surgical pathology: 10–30 cases/day
• Frozen sections: low–moderate volume
• Consultative work integrated into daily workflow

Schedule:

• Monday – Friday, 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM
• Night and weekend call included
