Orthopedic Trauma Surgery – Locum Tenens Opportunity
Position Overview
We are seeking a Board-Certified, fellowship-trained Orthopedic Trauma Surgeon for an ongoing locum tenens opportunity supporting a Level III Trauma Center environment. This role is focused on high-acuity orthopedic trauma and emergency surgical care with a combination of inpatient and outpatient responsibilities.
This is a long-term, flexible assignment designed to support ongoing coverage needs with consistent monthly shift availability.
Clinical Responsibilities
- 24-hour orthopedic trauma call coverage (7a–7a, out-of-house call)
- Management of all orthopedic trauma and emergency surgical cases
- Complex fracture care including pelvis and acetabulum
- Bread-and-butter hand trauma injuries
- Inpatient consults and operative trauma management
- Combined call and clinic responsibilities as needed
Schedule & Coverage
- 24-hour call shifts (7:00 AM – 7:00 AM)
- Ongoing, flexible coverage need
- Approximately 2–7+ shifts per month based on availability
Required Qualifications
- Board Certified in Orthopedic Surgery (required)
- Fellowship-trained in Orthopedic Trauma Surgery (required)
- Active Arizona Medical License (required or in process)
- DEA required
- Clean malpractice history required (strict requirement)
- Candidates must have clean credentialing files (no exceptions for malpractice history)
Credentialing
- Estimated timeframe: ~90 days
- Temp/emergency privileges may be available for candidates with clean files only
