Cardiac Surgery Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant

A nationally recognized cardiovascular program is seeking an experienced Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant to join its outpatient Cardiac Surgery practice on a long-term contract assignment.
This opportunity offers a highly collaborative environment focused on delivering exceptional care to preoperative and postoperative cardiac surgery patients. Providers will work alongside experienced cardiac surgeons and advanced practice professionals in a well-supported outpatient setting.
Position Highlights:
- Outpatient-only practice
- No call responsibilities
- Four 10-hour shifts per week
- Consistent weekday schedule
- Long-term assignment available through March 2027
- Collaborative multidisciplinary cardiac surgery team
- Strong clinical and administrative support
Responsibilities:
- Evaluate and manage preoperative cardiac surgery patients
- Conduct postoperative follow-up visits
- Provide patient education and care coordination
- Monitor recovery and optimize surgical outcomes
- Perform minor postoperative procedures as appropriate
- Collaborate closely with surgeons and advanced practice colleagues
Qualifications:
- Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant
- Active New Jersey license required
- Current CDS and DEA required
- Cardiac surgery, cardiothoracic surgery, cardiovascular surgery, or related surgical experience preferred
