Locum Nocturnist Hospitalist Physician Opportunity – Family Medicine Preferred / Internal Medicine
Position Overview
Palm Health Resources is seeking a Board Certified or Board Eligible Family Medicine or Internal Medicine physician for a locum tenens Nocturnist Hospitalist opportunity. This role offers the opportunity to provide inpatient coverage in a critical access hospital setting while working independently and delivering comprehensive care to an adult patient population.
The ideal candidate will be comfortable managing a broad range of inpatient medical conditions, working autonomously overnight, and providing high-quality care in a collaborative clinical environment. Family Medicine physicians with strong inpatient experience are preferred.
Opportunity Highlights
- Locum tenens inpatient Nocturnist Hospitalist position
- Night shift schedule: 7:00 PM – 7:00 AM
- Start date: October 1
- Critical access hospital setting
- Solo overnight coverage model
- Average of 3–6 admissions per night shift
- Manage a diverse adult inpatient population
- Full spectrum inpatient medical care

Procedure Experience Preferred
Candidates with experience and comfort performing the following procedures are highly preferred:
- Rapid Sequence Intubation (RSI)
- Intubation
- Thoracentesis
- Paracentesis
- Midline placement
- Central line placement
- Arterial line placement
Candidate Requirements
- Board Certified or Board Eligible in Family Medicine or Internal Medicine
- Family Medicine candidates preferred
- Prior inpatient Hospitalist experience required/preferred
- Comfortable practicing independently in a critical access environment
- Procedure experience strongly preferred
- Teaching or resident supervision experience preferred
- Board Eligible candidates must meet applicable eligibility requirements
- Visa sponsorship is not available
- New graduates will not be considered
